How Managing FOG Helps Manage Stormwater Problems

July 1, 2015

Our Executive Director, Paula Del Giudice, wrote a guest post on a local blog, “Stormwater News NW.” Del Giudice’s blog digs into the impact that fats, oils, and grease (collectively called “FOG”) have on stormwater management. In short, FOG has a rather large nationwide impact on combined sewage overflows and sewer backups. Check out the full post here.

For stormwater afficianados who don’t know the blog, Stormwater News NW is also worth a look. The blog, the title of which is pretty self explanatory, looks at stormwater management issues in the Northwest. It is the excellent product of Tracy Y. Williams. Williams is an environmental attorney with more than five years experience assisting industrial clients with stormwater management issues, including compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits, negotiations with regulatory agencies, and defense of federal Clean Water Act citizen suits.
